Curses be to old seeds!

I am sad to report that my corn seeds from two years ago were not exactly productive.  I planted a batch of them in the garden roughly two weeks ago, and have yet to see any sign of life.  Perhaps I was naive to hope that they would grow, but it seems silly to throw them away.  My goal was to grow silver queen corn this fall (despite the literature that says the fall armyworms preferentially chew them), but alas, my first planting has yet to poke through.

In a last ditch effort before having to make a trip to the local feed store, I have planted all of my old seeds in the ground, in the hopes that maybe a small percentage might still be viable.  I had two batches, one silver queen and a Ferry Morse sweet corn hybrid called "sugar dots".  If this batch fails me, then I will relent and purchase more.

It is very possible that the lack of a cool, dry place in our house may contribute to the failing of the seeds I have kept from previous years.
