The magic of basil

So... my basil plant is doing great!  Better than any other basil I have tried to grow.  As it starts to flower, I've been picking off the tops at a node to keep it green and bushy.  I started sticking the stems in the ground, and low and behold - those started to grow, too!

 Being curious, I  brought some in and put them in a glass of water.

 After a couple of days, sure enough, one of them had roots.

  I suppose I knew that the nodes were a point of growth for leaves, but didn't realize they were also a point of growth for roots.  Live and learn!  Anyone want a basil plant?  :)
